A State-of-the-Art sessions are educational sessions in which speakers critically review diverse aspects of a specific topic. In ESGO 2015, there will be 4 State-of-the-Art sessions that will cover Cervical, Ovarian, Breast and Endometrial Cancer.
The SoA Session on Endometrial Cancer will give full insight into new guidelines of management of Endometrial Cancer; truly multi-disciplinary guidelines under joint preparations throughout 2015 by three leading professional societies ESGO – ESMO – ESTRO. Publication of guidelines is expected in journals of all three sister societies in autumn 2015.
ESGO 2015 will have 19 parallel sessions with topics including Sentinel Node in Gynaecological Cancer, Selection of Ovarian Cancer Patients for Debulking Surgery, Uterine Transplantation: A (potential) New Improvement in Fertility Sparing Surgery, Management of Intermediate Risk Stage I of Endometrial Cancer, New Imaging Technology, Oncogenetics and Personalised Medicine and many more.
Rainer Kimming, Germany and Eric Leblanc, France will coordinate the debate session in ESGO 2015. This year the session focus will be on two different opinions of Robotic Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery.
This year, the ESGO Congress will have 2 video sessions presenting practical skills in surgery and diagnostic procedures of Cervical, Vulvar and Ovarian Cancer.
There will be 3 tumour board sessions at ESGO 2015 where the multidisciplinary panel will discuss Fertility Sparing, Trophoblastic Disease and Vulva.
Oral Presentations and Best Poster Sessions
In keeping with tradition ESGO 2015 will open the Congress with the Best Oral Presentation Session. The 2015 scientific programme will also include 5 oral presentation sessions presenting the selected top submitted abstracts. Each presenter will receive 8 minutes to present their research; time will be allotted to allow for a short Q&A session at the end of each presentation from the audience. There will also be 3 sessions allocated to best poster presentations which will be presented in e-poster format in the sessions halls.
Glass with the Experts
At ESGO 2015 there will be a Glass with the Experts session allowing participants to gather around tHe table to meet for informal discussions in small groups with outstanding researchers and clinicians. The list of experts and topics is available here.
Affiliated Society Sessions
Similarly to previous years, ESGO 2015 will have various sessions organised by its affiliated societies providing an essential opportunity for collaboration and connections to be formed across these societies. Session programmes are already confirmed for the ESTRO, ESP, IPOS, ESMO, ASGO, EORTC and EOTTD sessions. Please view the website here for more information.
National Society Sessions
Following the success of the previous ESGO National Society track in 2013, ESGO has selected 6 national societies to present their exciting programmes during the 2015 scientific programme. The national societies presenting are the British, German, Israeli, Nordic, Spanish and Turkish societies. In addition to the above, there will be 4 sessions presented by SFOG, 2 presented in English and 2 in French. Out of the 4 SFOG sessions, 3 will be oral communications and 1 will be a parallel session on Sentinel Nodes. Please view the website here for more information.
Specially formulated for Fellows, the 2015 the Fellows' Workshop will provide participants with tips and tricks in Pelvic Laparoscopic Lymphadenectomy.
